Trofeo Kima

So on Saturday at noon, after a sleepless night, including press conferences, preparation and discussion, we went to Val Masino, in Valtellina, with Miguel Heras and Gregory VOLLET.
The Trofeo Kima is a mythical race of Skyrunning, known for its technical difficulty, for his 7 steps of ropes and chains. It was one of the few major races in which Skyrunning did not participate because of the difficulties of timing and this was the perfect opportunity. So while going up the narrow road that took us Filolera, we were imagining the journey through the rugged mountains in front of us.

just arrived for dinner, go to bed quickly and try to sleep. At 5 am, still dark, sounded the alarm. Lift-be quick, a glass of Sportdej and unheated for output. We were expected before 49 kilometers with almost 4000 meters of positive slope, so when the output 6'30 he was gentle pace. Soon, the Italian Nicola Golinelli imposed a strong pace on the asphalt leaving a very small group, with Paolo Miguel Heras and Larger. Leaving the road and start the path, I tried my strength and wanted to know how were the other runners and I went forth, to see that the feeling was good, I kept pushing hard to get some distance in the 1 st ascent of 2000m of altitude. Upon reaching the summit, had 5-minute lead, which allowed me to relax a bit to me in the technical sections and long flanking.
From there, the race was a flanking halfway up, no path, between blocks of granite, cornices and slabs of snow to go to find the 7 steps About 200 meters of altitude each time, helping us up and down chains and ropes and jump peaks descending into the valley. It really was a race of goats, an enjoyment of running among rocks, ridges and walls with incredible over our heads.

Behind, the group was still together with Nicola, Michael and Paolo about 5 minutes, until the last descent Miguel pushed the pace to go alone to the goal. There we waited a long, long descent of over 2000 meters of altitude, with a very technical first part, a second inside the forest and the final 4 km of asphalt that is made eternal. But of course, like all Italian skyraces, public environment and people pushing you that was in all the crests and all the way down made it easier.

the end, I came to 6h19 minutes, a record of the test, ahead of Miguel Heras, who made a carrerón that crossed the Traguardo to 6h29 minutes to close the podium with 6h32 Golindelli Nicola minutes.

now enjoying a few last days of summer in the Alps between Chamonix and Annecy, thinking plays in the heat of Africa and do a bit of altitude to the Kilimanjaro. And is closing the summer, and snow has begun a caer in Chamonix in our hare pensar dentro that of a empezar poco habra that sacar el polvo a los esquís ...

Mw2 Russian Into English

UTMB...annulée!

Edition UTMB's 2010 had created much espectiv gathered a shelf ever seen. Weather should be hard, rain and cold at altitude, but it is not as the mountain? The mountain is not that of the sun, green fields, flowers and cows. But it also rocks, storms, snow ... that's what creates the mountain spirit. It is increasingly far from that spirit, even if the races are called racing "mountain" we never see. Racing wheel more, deletion of the technical parts are as "dangerous" cancellations of the first drop of rain ... We're not athletes and mountaineers! There is still a chance that races like Andorra or ultratrail Zegama Aizkorri are able to meet the riders and allow riders to decide or until they are able by his knowledge and technique to arrive.

It is true that UTMB is another thing, even if it assumes the name of Mont Blanc, is not a technical race and is accessible technical level for everyone with minimal preparation, it is this accessibility with the technical challenge that has long made it as popular and which allowed the riders not used to the mountains to participate. That's good, very good because it opens our sport, and it is true that the decision to stop the race today was thinking (I hope) the dangers that could be the riders who are not accustomed to cold, rain and fog. Dangerous So pass the Col du Bonhomme and Seigne. What seems to me in my opinion is incompressible and ashamed that an organization with a budget of around or more than one million euros (I guess by summing the entries more sponsors ...) is not able to provide for an alternative route, switch on the other side ... there is still the Alps there are trails or even under rocks! Is the problem with the return entries ...? Make reservations for next year? UTMB is beaucuop commitments for riders, preparing for over a year, leave the job or convince the family ... it will be hard to find a good solution ...

must not think too much and turn page, so it was with decisions of other riders like Geoff Roes, Karl Metzl, Nicolas Mermoud ... going to run the Troffeo KIMA, Italy, the World Championship Ultra Skyrace. I would like to thank Marino Giacometti, President of the ISF, and the organization we have registered so quickly and we have looked for housing ...

Old Penthouse Letters For Free

Simplemente, Sierre-Zinal

Hoy hemos our reunido of 3000 in Sierra más amantes de la Montaña, between corredores, "Turistas" y jóvenes promises to pursue the path that separated us from Zinal. After 37 editions, the spirit remains the same, and the organization, far from tired-se, seeks to overcome place every day.

All week I had a good feeling training, career prepared well, recognizing the tour and had the motivation beyond 100% after the race I came in Giir di Mont. Also, running in Sierre always motivated, know that you are getting the best in the world, despite absencias of Dega, Jono and Rickey, brokers would be out the likes of Shiessel, Kuprizka, Ançay, Costa, De kill ... The thing painted very well until Saturday, the cable car down (the organization invited all the elite athletes to eat in a restaurant with magnificent views over the 6 four thousand of the region) I was stung by a wasp. Three weeks ago in Bormio me when I was stung by a bike that made me discover that I was allergic and had to go to hospital immediately. This time it was not so bad, but the reaction did notice a bit during the night and morning was not sure which would be my performance.
At 9 o'clock in the morning, has been shot out on the road from Sierre, feelings were not bad but after a few minutes I started feeling that something was wrong, feeling sick and legs very heavy. Would be a day of suffering, a lot! Is formed from the beginning a group Shiessel, De kill, Costa, Kuprizka and I we've been together for the entire climb. Upon arriving at stores for Chandolin, mid-career, Costa has accelerated, leaving one by one to all the riders, I could hold his pace until barely before reaching the Hotel, turn my head, and as the year past, I see a great Tarcis Ancay has made a big flat section coming fast towards us, taking with him Robert Kuprizka. From there, it was a battle of 4, and no one was let go wanted (or could) attack. And there was each to play their best cards, Tarcis tried it in plain, strong pulling, but no one has been released, and I in the absence of 3km down I could take some time to reach goal before Cesar Costa and Robert Kuprizka. Very very happy finishing the race, as it has been a real struggle until the last minute.

Otherwise, the organization, perfect looking and inviting more runners each year, with an unbeatable deal, Thanks Alexandra! The Public impressive as ever in this race, the landscape, with 5 four-mile and valle de Annivers, indescriptible. A mi entender, una de las "incontournables" junto a Zegama y el Giir di Mont, simplemente, Sierre-Zinal.
