Two weeks after the meeting in Salzburg of the ISMF, organizations of the "Great Race" presented their project, a circuit that is born from the idea Big races but with some differences. This is a circuit with 3 races each year by teams, those all mountain skiers dream about winning one day. Many questions are still in the air, how will the ranking? Who can participate? will be under the umbrella and regulation of the ISMF?

Pierra Menta, Trophy Mezzalama Tower Rutor, Adamello Ski Patrol Raid Glacier together to propose a new international circuit.
Initially, this circuit is the brainchild of the technical director of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation and an overall concept has been developed with the heads of the five ski racing's most famous mountaineering world. This project, initially called "The Big Race.
Initially, the goal of "The Big Race" was to advance the ski-mountaineering across the globe. The media aspect and the number of countries participating in the circuit of the World Cup being two of the strengths of a long list. But in Salzburg, the project was rejected by the majority of nations adhering to the International Federation.
Despite this vote négatif et incompréhensible à certains égards, les cinq "grandes courses" ont décidé de créer un circuit interne de compétitions par équipe.
Elles se sont donc rencontrées, il y a quelques jours dans la région du Val d'Aoste pour définir en commun les grandes lignes de cette nouvelle initiative qui, au départ et pour sa phase-pilote, devrait déployer ses effets sur 2 ans.
Les objectifs principaux sont de donner suite aux exigences sportives légitimes des athlètes, de renforcer la présence de notre sport sur le terrain médiatique and safeguard the core values of modern ski mountaineering.
